Kimonos are made of many different materials. Mariko Sato made her living designing these traditional items. Without tradition, we lose sight of who we are, as well as who we might become, went the saying. Of course, when Hoshi came aboard Enterprise, her mother sent her several kimonos. There was the formal one with the pink and gold cherry blossoms.
Then there was the informal one, a yukata, made of wine-red silk. This one was not meant for public eyes. It glided against the skin, whispered softly with every movement.
A lover's robe.
Hoshi saved it for a special night.
